COSMETIC DENTAL TREATMENT DETAILS
A smile makeover is a multi-step treatment that consists of two or more of the following procedures:
Porcelain crowns: tooth-shaped caps used to restore a normal appearance to damaged or unusually shaped teeth. At Ramona Dentistry, we use the Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC) system to create customized, same-day restorations, including porcelain crowns.
White resin fillings: used to strengthen and support teeth while preserving a natural-looking appearance. White or composite fillings can be used to replace older fillings for a metal-free smile.
Porcelain inlays and onlays: also used to replace older metal fillings. Inlays are placed in between the cusp of a tooth while onlays are placed across one or more cusps.
Porcelain veneers: thin, tooth-colored shells that are placed over teeth to hide an array of minor cosmetic flaws including chips, cracks, gaps and stains. Porcelain veneers are crafted to match the look and feel of your natural teeth.
Dental bridges: used to fill in the gap left by a missing tooth. There are several types of bridges, each made of strong and durable ceramic materials.
Dental bonding: a resin composite material that is applied to the surface of teeth to improve their color and shape. It can be used to conceal small chips, cracks, gaps and stains, and to improve the appearance of misshapen teeth.
Zoom! teeth whitening: an in-office treatment that involves applying a whitening gel to teeth. Using a special blue-wavelength light, the gel is activated and breaks up stains on the teeth. Treatment with Zoom! typically takes no more than one hour and can lighten teeth up to eight shades.
